SETDA Names StartUps Selected for 2020 Cohort of Emerging Partners
June 16, 2020 (Washington, D.C.) – The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), today announced its eighth annual cohort of Emerging Private Sector Partners. Selected through a competitive application process, each startup will be introduced at SETDA’s virtual Emerging Technologies Forum, taking place June 16-17, 2020.
“These partners will help our state leaders understand the newest edtech innovations in ways that directly support our mission to improve education through technology policy and practice,” said Candice Dodson, Executive Director of SETDA, which represents U.S. state and territorial digital learning leaders.
SETDA’s Emerging Partners Program is designed to foster opportunities for startups to be seen and heard by state and national digital learning leaders. All Emerging Partners benefit from engagement with SETDA’s state leaders, affiliates and annual partners.

Throughout the year, the cohort will collaborate with education industry experts, including Academic Business Advisors, Arc Capital Development, C. Blohm & Associates (CB&A), Advancing Global EDU, The National Center on Accessible Educational Materials (AEM), Innovations4Education, and other SETDA partners.
During SETDA’s first annual SETDA Tank, a “sharktank-esque” event designed to generate awareness and provide valuable feedback, each cohort member will present their startup to a panel of industry experts. SETDA Tank takes place June 24 from 1:30-3 p.m. ET and June 25 from 1:30-3 p.m. ET.
On July 15, Arc Capital Development, Academic Business Advisors and CB&A will co-host a workshop for cohort members, providing insights into the K-12 industry, marketing trends and best practices.
“Our goal is to help cohort members understand how the education market operates, achieve greater visibility and gain more highly qualified leads,” said Charlene Blohm, President and CEO at CB&A. “SETDA’s Emerging Partners program attracts some of the most innovative startups in edtech, and we look forward to collaborating with this year’s members.”
SETDA’s Emerging Partners Program creates intentional, in-person and virtual opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding national and state trends in K-12 and higher education, as well as products and services that states and districts need.
