SETDA Announces Open Nomination Period for the New
Candice Dodson Influencer Award

December 9, 2020 (Washington D.C.) – SETDA, the principal membership association of U.S. state and territorial educational technology leaders today announced that it will begin accepting nominations for its recently created Candice Dodson Influencer Award. Dodson was the Executive Director of SETDA from May, 2019 until her sudden passing on July 22, 2020. The award will be funded annually through donations to the Candice Dodson Memorial Fund and sponsorships.

Candice Dodson Influencer AwardThe aim of the Candice Dodson Influencer Award is to commemorate the values, professional influence and personal contributions to the field of educational technology that Dodson championed every day, and to recognize similar qualities in edtech leaders who can carry on this important work in the future.

Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis with the nominating window opening on December 9, 2020 and closing on March 30, 2021. The inaugural award will be given at SETDA’s Emerging Technologies Leadership Forum in late June, 2021. The Candice Dodson Influencer Award will be given annually at SETDA’s June event.

The Candice Dodson Influencer Award will be a special way to commemorate the legacy of Candice, while looking forward and celebrating the kind of edtech champions we need to take us into the future,” said Eric Hileman, Chair of the SETDA Board of Directors.
