Greg J. Wilson, CAE, MPPA, Named Interim Executive Director of SETDA

August 24, 2026 (Washington, DC) – Greg Wilson, CAE, MPPA, has been named Interim Executive Director for SETDA, the principal non-profit membership association representing U.S. state and territorial educational technology and digital learning leaders. SETDA provides well-established forums for advocacy for policy and practice, professional learning, inter-state collaboration, and public-private partnerships centered on digital learning and equity.

Wilson brings more than two decades of experience guiding nonprofit organizations through leadership transitions and strategic growth. As founder of Greg Wilson Consulting, he has advised associations nationwide on governance, operations, and capacity building, helping mission-driven organizations strengthen their impact and sustainability.

“Greg’s leadership experience and deep understanding of nonprofit governance make him an invaluable partner for SETDA during this transition. His ability to strengthen systems, build alignment, and keep organizations moving forward will help position SETDA for its next chapter of growth and impact,” said Dorann Avey, SETDA Board Chair.

Wilson holds master’s degrees in English and Public Policy & Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives. He also earned a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.

As Interim Executive Director, Wilson will oversee SETDA’s operations, member engagement, and advocacy initiatives while supporting the Board of Directors in its search for permanent leadership. His expertise in governance, operations, and advocacy will help strengthen collaboration across states and partners as SETDA continues its work to support educational technology leaders.

Wilson will join the SETDA team on August 24, 2026.
