SETDA Announces 2025 Board Members and Officers
January 2, 2025 (Washington, DC) – SETDA, the principal non-profit association representing U.S. state and territorial educational technology and digital learning leaders, is proud to announce its 2025 Board of Directors and Officers. Board officers assumed their one-year terms on January 1, 2025.

Officers:
- Chair: Brad Hagg, Indiana Department of Education
- Chair-Elect: Dorann Avey, Nebraska Department of Education
- Past Chair and Treasurer: Mindy Fiscus, Illinois State Board of Education
- Secretary: Bre Urness-Straight, Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
Directors-at-Large:
- Doug Casey, Connecticut State Commission for Educational Technology
- DeLilah Collins, Colorado Department of Education
- John Chadwick, New Mexico Public Education Department
- Carla Wade, CoSN, Emeritus Position
- Patrick Devanney, ClassLink, Corporate Position
SETDA is pleased to announce the elected officers of its Board of Directors, who will guide the organization through a dynamic 2025. Brad Hagg assumes the role of Chair, with Dorann Avey serving as Chair-Elect. Mindy Fiscus transitions to Past Chair and Treasurer, while Bre Urness-Straight, a newly elected board member, steps into the role of Secretary.
We also welcome Patrick Devanney as the first to hold the newly established Corporate board position. Carla Wade, a respected former state member from Oregon, continues in the Emeritus position, and DeLilah Collins was reelected as an at-large board member, joining Doug Casey and John Chadwick in the at-large positions.

Our work has never been more relevant or critical, and I am honored to stand with this dedicated community as we accelerate learning for every student through the thoughtful integration of innovative technologies and solutions that keep us connected,” said Brad Hagg, SETDA Board Chair.
“As we enter 2025, SETDA’s Board of Directors will play a vital role in guiding states as they continue to address cybersecurity challenges, close persistent digital divides, and embrace advancements in AI and data-driven tools. Their leadership ensures that technology integration supports meaningful and sustainable progress in K-12 education,” said Julia Fallon, SETDA Executive Director.
SETDA’s Board of Directors election, held for three positions, concluded in October at the 2024 Leadership Summit and Ed Forum. While two board positions remain vacant, they will be filled during 2025.
