SETDA Commends the U.S. Senate on Passage of
Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill Package
August 10, 2021 (Washington, D.C.) –Today, the U.S. Senate voted to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a $1 trillion bill package that includes $65 billion for broadband.
Julia Fallon, State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) executive director, made the following statement:
“SETDA commends the Senate for taking this long-needed and bold step to close the nation’s broadband gaps. The broadband deployment state grants approved by the Senate through this bill will make an impactful difference for the unconnected and under-connected households across the country struggling to obtain high-capacity broadband. SETDA’s members strongly support the bill’s broadband provisions, including the desperately needed supplemental and focused funding for rural and tribal areas, which are often the hardest to serve.”
