Description: West Virginia’s math4Life initiative is a comprehensive and intensive statewide effort to improve student mathematics performance throughout the state over the next five years. The state seeks to work with counties and schools throughout the state to institute best practices, challenging pedagogy, and student engagement strategies to improve students’ mathematics achievement. West Virginia Department of Education staff conduct routine coaching to identified county-based math teams to effectively implement standards, best practices, and other supports to increase student achievement in mathematics.
