In 1972, Tequipment, Inc. began in a small barn where we specialized in the sale of vocational training equipment. Our main customers were adult training centers that focused on helping individuals learn new trades. As the educational landscape evolved, Tequipment, Inc. shifted towards interactive technology for the K-12 classroom. To ensure that schools were getting the most out of the technology they were purchasing Teq created a full PD team of previous educators to hold seminars, professional development sessions, and co-teaching/mentoring sessions. In 2014, we created and launched OTIS, our online PD platform to offer flexible professional learning options for educators to learn anytime and anywhere. OTIS offers over 900 courses, educational resources, skill development, and micro-credentials.
In 2018, Teq had many requests for STEM products and services in the K-12 classroom. To address this demand, Teq started curating STEM products to create hands-on learning experiences. As we provided STEM to more schools, it became clear that there was a barrier to integrating technology cross curricular. So, this led to our creation of iBlocks, our project-based learning pathways for educators.
Today, Tequipment Inc.’s offerings both integrate curricula and technology solutions into a complete thought – transforming education through partnerships! Teq works to enable schools the ability to implement project-based learning with STEM products, ed tech hardware and software, ongoing professional development, tech support, and the design of active learning spaces with modular furniture.
