Doug Levin photoDoug Levin is the Executive Director of the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA). In this position, Doug works with state educational technology directors in all 50 states and DC and works with policy makers in other educational organizations, the U.S. Department of Education, and on Capitol Hill. SETDA provides national leadership on educational technology, ensures members have meaningful professional development opportunities, and engages in partnerships with the public and private sector to collaborate on how educational technology supports teaching and learning.

Doug has nearly 20 years of Washington, DC-based education policy and research experience gained through a variety of prominent roles in the private and non-profit sectors. He formerly served as Deputy Executive Director of the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) and prior to that as Senior Director of Education Policy at Cable in the Classroom, the cable industry's national education foundation. Levin also served as a principal research analyst with the American Institutes for Research. While there, he directed education research studies, evaluations, and policy initiatives on a wide variety of topics, including on educational technology, teacher quality, student assessment, services for students with disabilities, and federal/foundation program planning and administration.

Doug holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of William and Mary.

Sara White Hall is the Deputy Director for the State Educational Technology Directors Association.  Sara oversees strategic and corporate relations including the development and implementation of SETDA conferences, publications, and strategies around 21st Century Classroom Collaborative for EETT and Stimulus covering topics including systemic reform, professional development approaches, changing teaching practices for student achievement, virtual learning, assessment trends, STEM and broadband access for all.

Sara’s background includes 10 years experience in building strong relationships with technology companies that invest in education. Hall was the Director of Membership & Marketing at the Software Publishers Association, now known as SIIA. While there, she was instrumental in expanding to Codie Awards program to include core-curriculum and supplemental educational software titles categories and developed a program to help teachers learn to use the Internet in their classroom instruction called CyberSurfari.org.  Sara’s passionate support of education technology is also highlighted in her past position as the founder of the Children’s Web Surfing Alliance, Inc; a 501-C3 educational organization that administered the free educational Internet Treasure Hunt for teachers, students, and parents. The program boasted more than 150,000 registered players from 129 countries.

Sara has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the George Washington University. She lives near Baltimore, Maryland, with her two children.

Christine Fox, Director of Professional Development & Research

Christine Fox PicChristine is the Director of Professional Development and Research for SETDA.  Christine’s tasks include professional development planning and implementation, research, writing and web site coordination.  She coordinates the SETDA National Trends Report, SETDA’s Professional Development Programs and SETDA conference presentations. She organizes resources for SETDA’s website, researches grant and writes proposals for national education conferences.  

Christine Fox’s background includes experience in education and consulting. She worked as a 3rd grade teacher, ESOL coordinator, educational consultant and curriculum developer for a national whole school reform model. Christine has a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Florida International University and received her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Florida State University. She currently lives in West Palm Beach, Florida with her husband and two daughters.


Tera Daniels, Events Planner & Office Manager

Tera Daniels photoTera Daniels is the Events Planner and Office Manager for the State Educational Technology Directors Association.  She has been with SETDA since 2002.  Tera establishes and negotiates contracts with venues for SETDA events.  She also plans menu, coordinatres registration, and organizes decorations, signage, and AV needs for SETDA events.  She also assists in establishing budgets for SETDA events and ensures that total costs fit within approved budgets.  In addition to event planning, Tera coordinates accounting and membership.  She serves as the staff leader on the Membership and Communications Committee.  She also manages contracts with organizations that provide professional and administrative services to SETDA.  As well, Tera coordinates the organizations advocacy campaign, which includes scheduling congressional visits and briefings and luncheons and handling meetings.

Tera's background includes occupations in the area of office management and project coordination.  She brings to SETDA over ten years of experience.

Tera holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Towson University, where she majored in Economics and Political Science.  Tera lives outside of Annapolis, Maryland with her two children.
