Session Description:
Money's coming, but what does it mean, where do you start and how do you ensure you're making a difference? The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) includes four guiding principles: 1. Spend funds quickly to save and create jobs, 2. Improve student achievement through school improvement and reform, 3. Ensure transparency, reporting and accountability and 4. Invest one‐time ARRA funds thoughtfully to minimize the "funding cliff." SETDA has recently compiled their recommendations to help districts build "technology-rich classrooms of the future" with stimulus funds in addition to their Class of 2020 Action Plan for Education. Join us for breakfast to learn about the key components and how to set your schools up for success.

For 10 years, eChalk has helped thousands of schools connect to learning, information and each other. Social networking, new technology and virtual learning undoubtedly influence today's education landscape and students want us to rethink the way we teach so they don't need to "power down" when they come to school.

eChalk is pleased to support SETDA's advocacy efforts, including being part of the recent "The Future of Learning: How Technology is Transforming Public Schools" hearing and showcase on Capitol Hill for the House Committee on Education and Labor. eChalk directly supports 7 of the 10 action steps to support students outlined in SETDA's Class of 2020 Action Plan and 4 of the 5 themes for technology leadership presented in CoSN's Empowering the 21st Century Superintendent initiative.

During NECC 2009, eChalk will showcase districts that are bridging the communication gap and managing education innovation and transformation with one simple solution. You'll hear how your colleagues make learning come to life for 21st century students, ensure 21st century teachers and school leaders are more effective at what they do and strengthen the home/school connection so 21st century parents are advocates and partners for our schools.

Join the conversation - take part in this special event with eChalk. RSVP ONLINE TODAY! We look forward to seeing you in Washington.
