      Educational Technology Awards

SETDA is proud to honor SETDA Members and Policy Makers via our annual SETDA Leader of the Year (SLY) Award and our Federal and State Policy Maker Awards.

For more information on the awards, go to Awards page and log into my SETDA as prompted.

SETDA SLY Award

SETDA established the SLY Award to recognize an active SETDA member, who meets the selection criteria, who has exhibited outstanding leadership in (1) integrating technology effectively in his/her state to improve student learning, (2) collaborating with peers through SETDA initiatives thereby affecting positive change for the organization and its members, and (3) engaging within the broad education and education technology communities to ensure the effective integration of technology in learning to improve student achievement.

Congratulations to Rick Gaisford (Utah) the 2009 SLY Award Winner. Rick has played a pivotal role in the national efforts around educational technology, previously serving as the Chair and Vice Chair of the SETDA Board.  Rick shared information with policy-makers on the value of technology for the improvement of education and presented at numerous conferences to help make educational technology programs more scalable.  SETDA would also like to congratulate Cathy Poplin (AZ) and Carla Wade (OR) on their SLY nominations.
