An important next step to supplement these tools developed by this Work Group during the NLI, is the collection of specific examples from different states that highlight best practices to accompany the strategies provided here to help educational technology leaders promote the importance of educational technology both within the education system and among outside stakeholders. The creation and collection of templates of useful documents, such as policy briefs or press releases, to aid leaders in accomplishing these tasks could be very useful in assisting state leaders in more effectively carrying out different aspects of their job, as well. The development of a Website to serve as a common forum for a free exchange of strategies and resources to assist state leaders in all facets of their role as an educational technology leader-especially as this role continues to change and evolve-could also prove an extremely beneficial step to maximize the impact technology leaders can have within their states.
