Our beliefs about learning are not any different than any other educator. We need to work in partnership with local school districts, intermediary education agencies, community colleges, parents, teachers, administrators and all other concerned citizens to provide educational opportunities that develop skills and knowledge, potential, self-esteem, work force productivity and motivation for lifelong learning. Technology is an enabler that promotes a culture where students can learn to their fullest potential. It allows our students to compete in a global society of the 21st Century with 21st century skills that match or exceed those of their global counterparts. Education resources need to be "user center designed" to converge on the target of not only increasing academic achievement but students that have the skills to compete in the global economy. We want to enhance education through technology. In order to accomplish this, teachers and administrators need to be enabled with the leadership and instructional skills that promote technology as a vehicle to be more effective and efficient as we work towards rigor, relevance and relationships in school improvement. Teachers need professional development that prepares them to provide equitable access to instruction and the tools for instruction that enhance learning for each student. Administrators need the insight and ability to support teachers by creating a learning environment that values professional development, collaboration, and risk-taking as teachers increasingly integrate technology into their instruction. |
