Digitized State Standards and
Standards Management Instruments

Background, Process & Sponsors

Background

The SETDA/JES&Co Implementation Framework for Achievement Standards Toolkit (IFAST) includes tools, technologies and best practices that enable states to manage electronic versions of their academic standards, align resources and assessments consistently using open and interoperable methods, and embed digitized versions of academic standards into learning, assessment systems and systems of accountability.

The toolkit expands on the National Science Foundation’s Achievement Standards Network, the authoritative electronic collection of all state and national standards.

This database of standards, developed to support the research and cataloging needs of the National Science Digital Library, is an open, interoperable collection of all the state’s standards and benchmarks and supports other key technology initiatives such as the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF).

This resource is available for free to non-profit educational entities working for non-profit purposes. The goal is to provide states the ability to maintain their standards in a uniform manner to simplify the process for all stakeholders including administrators, curriculum developers, teachers, parents, students and corporate partners.

Since this tool is integrated into an existing Website, to access all the information please visit: IFAST Toolkit

SETDA Members worked with the JES & Co to guide the development of this tool. They provided input on the layout and format of the tool as well as the content.
