Professional Development Detailed Guidelines
Developed by the Effective Teaching with Technology Assessment Work Group
Resources needed
- Mechanism that insures participation (state or district policy, legislation requiring participation, funding, incentives for participation, marketing efforts);
- Framework for understanding what a technology proficient teacher is (ISTE, TSSA, or other) that supports best practices related to state content and curriculum standards including student standards. Will this measure proficiency only or actual use in practice;
- Professional development programs for participants;
- Information, models and research related to best practices in school improvement, effective use of technology within content disciplines, and effective professional development for technology integration;
- Valid and reliable instruments and processes for measuring proficiency, implementation in the classroom, or both, for teachers and administrators;
- Storage, delivery, analysis, dissemination system for data;
- Personnel / administrative framework.
