Statewide Snapshot of Teacher Competency Implementation Guidelines
Developed by the Effective Teaching with Technology Assessment Work Group
Preparation (how to get the resources needed)
- Form a stakeholder group to develop, recommend or adopt standards framework;
- Do the political groundwork for building an administrative and funding framework to facilitate participation, including a mandate for the assessment happening;
- Select or build an instrument (refer to the SETDA guide for some options);
- Plan for actual data collection; make decisions about sampling vs. population measurement, logistics of administering instrument, timelines, responsibilities, inclusion of respondent groups (teachers, administrators, tech coordinators, etc) and needs for different instruments for different groups;
- Consider outsourcing, collaborating with university partners, etc.
