Biography: Kathleen Barnhart is an eLearning principal consultant in Curriculum and Instruction Division of the Illinois State Board of Education. Her state funded projects are the the Learning Technology Centers (LTCs), and the Illinois Virtual School(IVS). The LTCs were established to assist Illinois school districts with hardware and software infrastructure, as well as classroom and teacher readiness for integrating technology in the classroom and curriculum. The mission of IVS is to use new and emerging technologies that expand the boundaries of space and time to provide Illinois students and their teachers with increased equity and access to the highest quality educational and professional development opportunities. At the federal level Kathleen reviews the EETT formula side of NCLB. Prior to her current position, she has taught pre-service educators at the community college and university level. Her majors are instructional design with an emphasis on user navigation.
Raised in Springfield, Illinois, Kathleen and husband Alan have four grandchildren. On the personal side, she enjoys a golf, bowling, old movies, dinners with friends and great wine.
